A simple and hearty crock pot pizza casserole that combines classic pizza flavors in an easy slow-cooked dish.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package (16 oz) penne pasta, cooked
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, and garlic powder. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Layer half the cooked pasta in the crock pot. Top with half the meat sauce and half the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining pasta, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until heated through.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Add sliced mushrooms or black olives for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
